Part-time 15 hours per week total (Academic Year 10 hours during week, 5 hours on program Saturdays; Summer Monday – Wednesday)
Key Areas of Focus:
Instructional Support
- Identify areas for professional development (one session per program session)
- Provide academic resources for instructional needs
- Conduct one a session observation and feedback per teacher per year
- Develop a Teacher Observation Guide for use by program coordinators/directors
- Assist in teacher recruitment and identification
- Review Teacher lessons plans
- Monitor Counseling program and review Counseling Portfolio
Curriculum Design
- Design and develop program curriculum for weekday and Saturday programming
- Recommend resource/program for student skill assessment
- Set program academic program focus for each semester in collaboration with coordinators
- Assess the effectiveness of curriculum
- Prepare Academic Year and Summer Academic Portfolio for OSHE
- Review Counseling Portfolio prior to submission to OSHE
- Monitor NJDOE Regulations for ELA, Math, Science, Career and Technical Ed.
- Develop schedules for distribution
- Monitor use of online programs; Cambridge, Edmentum, Lobster, Naviance, Avid etc.
- Social Emotional Learning Check in Pre/Post Academic Sessions
Program Consultation
- Participate in staff meetings
- Share expertise and feedback on overall program design
- Attend School District Meetings with Pre-College if needed
- Edit and revise grant submissions required by feds and state agencies, e.g., Activity Grant Narrative, Federal Budget Narratives, APRs, Yearly reports, etc.
- Support development of Pre-College dept. to include career and college exposure opportunity for students K-12 in Passaic County (outside of grant-funded programs)
- Secure classrooms for all programs
