Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator (Anne Frank Inspire Academy - Bandera)

Anne Frank Inspire Academy is an innovative 21st-century public charter school serving K - 12 students. Our campus is in northwest San Antonio. We have a unique educational program designed to foster independent learning. Our learning environment engages students in constructing understanding through asking questions, exploring, researching, and reflecting. Essential Functions

• Provides instructional leadership, maintains school-wide focus on high standards of student achievement, ensures effective instruction of curriculum standards, and manages processes for collecting and analyzing data to increase student achievement.
• Serves as a resource in curriculum and instruction across subject areas.
• Maintains adequate knowledge relative to all aspects of the instructional program, ensuring continuous focus on improving student academic performance.
• Coordinates and monitors the instructional program and oversees curriculum updates.
• Provides leadership for attaining student performance based upon the state's academic excellence indicators and other indicators as may be adopted by the State Board or the Board of Trustees.
• Studies and evaluates new instructional techniques for possible use by classroom facilitators.
• Assists in evaluating academic programs, grading and assessment, and their effect on student achievement.
• Assists teaching staff with the implementation of curriculum and instructional materials.
• Develops and implements follow-up plans for curriculum revisions and instructional materials adoptions.
• Works with campus administration to develop and implement the school improvement process (data analysis, goal setting, action plans, etc.).
• Supports staff in developing, understanding, and implementing the curriculum.
• Strengthens the instructional program with a focus on narrowing achievement gaps.
• Provides leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and planning.
• Assists with data organization from all assessments and develops strategies for intervening with students experiencing difficulties.
• Engages staff in intensive data analysis and results planning every six weeks.
• Implements and supports the goals determined by the district.
• Collaborates with staff to integrate educational initiatives and resources.
• Assists with program implementation.
• Assists staff in developing and implementing plans to meet student achievement needs.
• Establishes academic goals.
• Maintains high academic standards in academic and teaching processes.
• Provides training to teaching staff.
• Researches new trends in academic initiatives.
• Assists staff in determining effective methods for integrating curriculum standards, instructional strategies, and authentic assessment into the investigation process.
• Models various instructional strategies designed to be rigorous and mirror the six-week R, STAAR Assessment.
• Assists in identifying professional development needs and long-range professional development plans.
• Coaches and models research-based instructional strategies.
• Mentors new teachers and struggling staff members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
