Job Description Summary

The Curriculum Developer (EWD) will support the growth and impact of the BioMADE Education and Workforce Development (EWD) Program team. This position will involve curriculum development, implementation and delivery of projects related to BioMADE’s EWD activities including public, foundation, and private-entity driven projects and relevant community, member, and government engagement. The successful candidate will be instrumental to curriculum design, implementation, and reporting/evaluation related to BioMADE projects. The successful candidate will collaborate across functional teams with BioMADE’s Technology and Innovation and 4S (Safety, Security, Sustainability, and Social Responsibility) programs. The Curriculum Developer will work alongside BioMADE EWD staff and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to ensure content is mission-aligned and compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WGAG) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) for broad impact. The incumbent will coordinate the development, assessment, member access points (physical and web-based), distribution, and evaluation of project curricula and course materials related to EWD projects. Important emphasis is placed on the development of workforce training materials that embed core principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Review BioMADE EWD instructional materials created from projects. Monitor technical progress/product development, deliverables and milestones, and project outputs (instructional materials and related training materials – presentations, activities, formative and summative assessments).
  2. Oversee the development and delivery of course content for BioMADE teaching and learning across BioMADE programs. Prepare, edit, and create (as needed) workforce training materials with project SMEs that are distribution-ready, which include presentations and modular programming, in addition to full course delivery via online (synchronous and asynchronous) or in-person instruction.
  3. Serve as the intermediate between web-platform developers for Learning Management Systems (LMS) and the project teams for content delivery.
  4. Provide advice and guidance to project teams to ensure materials developed are compliant with WCAG and aligned to UDL guidelines for accessibility.
  5. Integrate elements of the BioMADE EWD Blueprint into institute projects where applicable.
  6. Conduct regular status check meetings with external project teams. Review and evaluate quarterly technical reports to ensure risks to the project are mitigated and projects are on track.
  7. Review and draft interim, final reports, and briefings to identify project status and achievements to be shared internally and publicly.
  8. Collaborate with the BioMADE Communication and Leadership teams to ensure that relevant information is appropriately shared with BioMADE membership and external stakeholders, and in accordance with BioMADE confidentiality provisions.
  9. Assist with preparation of reports and associated documents for BioMADE leadership, committees and DoD to communicate status of the projects.
  10. Participate in site visits to meet with external project personnel.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Other duties may include:

  1. Work collaboratively with the Education and Workforce Development, Technology and Innovation, and 4S (Safety, Security, Sustainability, and Social Responsibility) teams, as needed.
  2. Establish and maintain relationships with BioMADE industry and academic members (including community colleges, workforce development programs, etc.).
  3. Solicit feedback from existing partners to ensure priorities align with industry needs.
  4. Identify potential partnership opportunities and promote BioMADE Education and Workforce Development strategies and programs to establish new programs and relationships.
  5. Represent BioMADE in the larger Manufacturing Innovation Institutes’ EWD community.
