Cupcake/Cake Baker

Gold Mine Cupcakes is an award winning cupcake bakery. We are looking for a baker who has experience and a passion for baking cupcakes as well as small 6-inch cakes. We have been named on Denver's A-list as the "Best Cupcakes in Denver" 2017, 2018 and 2020 and was most recently nominated as the "Best Dessert" and "Best Baker" in Golden. Baker responsibilities include making batters, frostings, baking cupcakes, frosting and decorating cupcakes, washing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean. We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule that is available to work based on the demands of our orders. We are a small bakery and a small team. Time off requests need to be put in 3 weeks in advanced and must be kept to a minimum. To be successful in this role, you should have work experience as a Baker and be able to follow our custom recipes and designs to our standards. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Work well as a team with our other bakers and front of house staff
• Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use
• Measure ingredients to prepare batter and frostings
• Follow exact recipes
• Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
• Mix various ingredients to various flavors of batters and frostings.
• Decorate cupcakes with icings, and decorations
• Wash all dishes
• Be able to answer phone, greet customers and help with front of house as needed.

Skills

• Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and ovens
• Understanding of food safety practices
• Experience with cake decoration techniques
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
• Flexibility to work in early morning shifts

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
