Job Description
Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada, actively maintains a pool of qualified individuals to be selected from on an as needed basis by the department to fulfill part-time temporary instructional needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Please indicate in your application materials your classes of interest, availability for in person courses, and your interest in teaching online courses.
1. A minimum of two years of full time work experience in the Culinary industry or part time equivalent.
2. Current ServSafe Food Safety Managers Certification
3. Knowledge and experience working in any of these areas: basic and advanced hot food cooking, baking and pastry, food and beverage management, sanitation, menu design, food service mathematics, garde manger, line cooking and related subjects such as American Regional cuisine, International Cuisine, catering, and/or restaurant operations.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Associate's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in culinary arts or related topic.
2. Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends.
Responsibilities
Candidates must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
The primary responsibility is to teach college-level courses. Additionally, candidates will collaborate with department colleagues to maintain curriculum consistency and contribute to course assessment practices as necessary.
Compensation: $952 per credit for standard credit courses.
Conditions of Employment
This is an on-going pool of qualified individuals interested in part-time, temporary non-tenure track instructional opportunities at Truckee Meadows Community College.
These opportunities are part-time only and will not be continued beyond the ending date. These opportunities may be terminated at will, at any time, for any reason, without notice; appointee has no appeal rights. Temporary assignments are not eligible for consideration for tenure as part of the assignment.
