CTE Work-Based Learning Coordinator
12 Month Non-Union position
The Work-Based Learning Coordinators are charged with placing students in external work based learning opportunities and/or workforce development opportunities to further develop professional skills and preparation in their chosen Career and Technical program area. The WBL Coordinators will work with students, families and CTE instructors on all stages of Work Based Learning preparation- identification of match, student preparation, onboarding, logistics, ongoing monitoring and feedback, and exit. 75% of time in this position will be direct interface with students, families and employer supervisors. 25% will be interfacing with partner organizations, data tracking and coordination with the CTE team.
Goals of the Position:

• To place 50% of CTE seniors and 25% of CTE juniors in impactful work-based learning opportunities during the summer or school year.
• To increase the number of CTE and non-CTE students enrolled in Workforce Development programs in Construction, Healthcare and Manufacturing.
• To increase the number of CTE students enrolled in CTE dual enrollment courses on college campuses.
• To ensure that students complete all necessary paperwork and permission for each offsite WBL opportunity.
• To provide ongoing support to students and families.
• To ensure students' equitable access to WBL, Workforce Development and dual enrollment opportunities.

Additionally, the Coordinator will:

• Serve as liaison to Skills RI and assist with the multiple stages of the PrepareRI application process.
• Serve as a liaison to established summer internship programs- Generation Teach, Electric Boat, Lifespan Summer Youth Employment, etc.
• Maintain WBL data, updating program outcome trackers and entering WBL on Skyward. Create quarterly report for CTE Director.
• Participate in weekly CTE Department meetings and RIDE Career Coordinator meetings

EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES

• Work with CTE instructors to identify students ready for external WBL opportunities
• Develop marketing materials for WBL opportunities
• Design and maintain a structure to support work-based learning- application, vetting, information, permission, tracking, feedback/evaluation, and communication regarding school attendance.
• Run orientation sessions for students prior to placement on job readiness, professional communication, workplace etiquette, etc.
• Run orientation sessions for families with evening and Zoom options
• Organize celebration events to honor student achievement at the end of each semester and summer.
• Serve as a liaison to work based learning and workforce development providers.
• Track, analyze, and present data
• Work collaboratively with CTE instructors and school counselors
• Promotes equity and access to outside work based learning and workforce development opportunities.
• Performs other duties as designated by CTE Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS

• Experience working with urban youth
• Understanding of work-based learning design, objectives and regulations
• Results-oriented, organized, adaptable, and highly motivated to serve all students
• Proficiency in Google docs, spreadsheets and student information systems
• Bi-lingual preferred
