The teacher is the district's primary agent for instruction with responsibility for presenting the prescribed curriculum effectively and employing a diagnostic/prescriptive approach to identification and subsequent adaptation to the needs and interests of the students.
The duties commonly associated with the position include but are not limited to:
- maintaining up-to-date knowledge of curriculum content
- planning and assessment of instruction and curriculum
- maintaining classroom management
- planning and delivering effective instruction
- promoting high standards and expectations for student achievement
- communicating with students, parents, and other district employees to work on behalf of students
- promoting equity and appreciation of diversity
Job Requirements
MA DESE Certification in Voc Tech Teacher: Manufacturing, Engineering and Technological Cluster, Advanced Manufacturing Technology 9-14
Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to Metal Fabrication and joining technologies
Passing score on written and performance tests in Metal Fabrication and joining technologies; achieve a passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test (VTLST) or Communication and Literacy Skills test
Ability to use data to plan for, assess, and modify instruction
