TITLE: CTE AUTOMATION AND ROBOTICS TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Arizona CTE Teaching Certificate: INDUSTRIAL AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGY Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of study: robotics, computer maintenance, electronic technologies, engineering sciences or other related field Holds an industry credential (preferred) such as CSWA, MSSC, NCCER, SACA or Mechatronics Valid Fingerprint Card Highly Qualified in appropriate subject area Demonstrates organizational ability Clear and professional communication skills (verbal and written) REPORTS TO: Administrator (s) as designated by the Principal SUPERVISES: Not Applicable JOB GOAL: Under direction of the site principal and CTE Director, the Automation and Robotics teacher plans, develops and conducts classes related to Robotics, assists officers, committees and members of the Skills USA chapter and forms industry partnerships in the community. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests and abilities of individuals to ensure student achievement and adheres to Arizona Approved CTE Program Criteria.2.

Creates a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives.3. Manage classroom behavior by enforcing rules and implementing industry approved safety procedures.4. Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.5.

Provides an instructional program to meet the needs of all students including students with disabilities.6. Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.7. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives.8.

Establishes learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs; requirements of the districts curriculum framework, and knowledge of student growth and development.9. Plans for and utilizes instructional methods, resources and evaluation techniques which motivate and enable each student to achieve learning objectives and include hands-on labs, simulations, design and programming techniques.10. Diagnoses the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of Exceptional Students staff as required.

Provides input when necessary to students IEP's.11. Takes all necessary and safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.12. Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, CGUHSD policy and administrative regulation.

Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.13. Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.14. Establishes professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents and community which reflect recognition of and respect for every individual.15.

Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals and volunteers. May evaluate paraprofessional's job performance with department chairs and/or administrators.16. Appraises own effectiveness and demonstrates successful application of skills and information acquired to increase effectiveness.

Strives to maintain and improve professional competence through professional development.17. Participates in school management and shares the responsibility for the total school program. Attends staff meetings, PLC's and serves on staff committees as required: Industry Advisory Council formation and meetings, CTSO advisor (Skills USA chapter), and other CTE related committees.18.

Coordinate text book adoption process within department.19. Manage and efficiently operate the program's laboratory and equipment.20. Through the Skills USA CTSO, assist students to develop attitudes and skills in leadership, citizenship and human relations which will contribute to their personal success.21.

Adhere to deadlines set forth by the State and National Skills USA for membership, dues, awards and leadership activities. 22. Develop and conduct a complete Automation and Robotics program of activities that adheres to local, state and national guidelines.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Certified calendar Placement on Certified salary schedule dependent upon education and experience. This is a contracted position. Five addition contract days to supervise student activities, prepare lab simulations, maintain equipment, etc.

EVALUATION:Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
