The Learning Community, a vibrant public charter school that centers the voices of students, families, and teachers seeks a collaborative, dedicated Crossing Guard.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
· Putting out cones to block off pedestrian heavy pathways.
· Directing traffic & stopping cars while pedestrians are in the crosswalk.
· In general, supporting student safety when crossing the street near our school.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, all candidates must be U.S. citizens or residents or have work visas. In addition, they must demonstrate:
· Being a reliable colleague and teammate. Our Crossing Guards are depended on to keep our students and families safe, in partnership with teachers, leaders and other staff. We expect you to demonstrate strong relational skills and to show up on time and ready to complete job duties.
· Strong communication and relationship building skills. Our Crossing Guards build strong rapport with students, families, and members of our team. They communicate directly and respectfully, avoid gossip, and are generally trusted to do their day-to-day work by students, families, and the team.
Salary, Benefits and Other Details:
Workday. This position is a part-time role based at the Learning Community Charter School in Central Falls, Rhode Island and will work Monday through Friday from 7:15-8:45am and 2:15-3:45pm for a total of 3 hours per day. This role does not work during school breaks, holidays, and summer periods.
Salary. For this role, the budgeted compensation range is $15-$17 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Vacation and Benefits.
● Time off: 6 paid sick days/2 paid personal days per year.
