Job Description
The Crisis Respite Specialist provides support and assistance to clients. The CRS will coordinate the admission, assessment, programming, and resources needed for the client during their stay and upon discharge. Crisis Respite Specialists are responsible to complete accurate documentation of services, provide peer supports, and ensure smooth operations of the respite house.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ÿ Assist in the daily operations of a certified respite/residential program setting
Ÿ Implement planned programming (activities/group sessions) with clients that will support their recovery and progress
Ÿ Provide support and advocacy to individuals in crisis
Ÿ Assist clients with accessing resources and community services needed during stay and upon discharge
Ÿ Assist clients with the admission and discharge process
Ÿ Assist clients with determining goals, create a care plan to support client success at the respite house and upon discharge
Ÿ Maintain accurate records and complete documentation of client services and progress during stay
Ÿ Provide peer support, model wellness and recovery methods to support clients
Ÿ Demonstrate and model daily living skills to clients needing additional support (cooking, cleaning, etc.)
Ÿ Help maintain overall cleanliness and safety of the house
Ÿ Communicate and interact with community agencies to coordinate services for clients
Ÿ Treat all clients with dignity and respect, and maintain professional boundaries with clients
Ÿ Demonstrate teamwork among co-workers
Ÿ Flexibility with work schedule in the case of call-ins or scheduling issues
Ÿ Attend staff meetings and trainings
Ÿ Other duties as required
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Residential setting
· Some exposure to cleaners, chemicals is expected
· Physical requirements include walking, bending, standing, climbing stairs, and lifting (light/medium-up to 50 pounds)
· May need to work flexible schedule, depending on staffing needs

Experience:
- Human Services: 1 year (Preferred not required)
License/Certification:
- Foster Care License (Preferred not required)
