Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for over 40 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center provides a full continuum of care which includes a trauma-informed environment for both patients and staff.


We are currently seeking a full-time licensed MRSS Mental Health Professional to provide safety assessments, de-escalation, peer support, and skill building, among others. Our Mobile Response Stabilization Services Professional will respond to assist clients and their family support system in de-escalating a specific issue/episode. Additionally, an assessment will be completed, a plan of care will be developed and coordination of services will be established. MRSS stands for Mobile Response and Stabilization Services. Families with youth and young adults who are experiencing difficulties or distress can receive assistance within 60 minutes after contacting MRSS. Ongoing support will be provided for up to 45 days of intensive, in-home services and linkage to on-going supports.


Essential Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct triage and intake interviews by phone or in person with clients and referral sources.
  • Provides in-home crisis stabilization services, parenting education, counseling, community resource referral, and other social services interventions to the youth and family.
  • Complete counseling/social work assessments, mental status exams, and social histories.
  • Coordinates and monitors services for the youth and family in the community, including mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational and social services.
  • Assess, determine the most appropriate treatment, and develop the plan treatment.
  • Provide linkage to case management and services.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and appropriate clinical records.
  • Provide prompt response to scenes when dispatched by Crisis Line.
  • Work cooperatively with emergency personnel at the scene to assist in resolution of crisis situation.
  • Makes appropriate emergency and crisis interventions at the scene. Provides immediate follow-up and appropriate linkage when indicated following the crisis intervention.
  • Provide service in most appropriate setting based on client needs, may be called on to provide services within the agency or in the field.
  • Initiates and develops prevention strategies.
  • Performs crisis follow-up as indicated around specific issues that can be dealt with in a specified time frame.
  • Maintains timely and complete documentation of services and activities, which meet the standards of CMS, (CARF and OHMAS – only if we will be certified by these entities).
  • Performs short-term, brief solution-focused counseling around specific issues that can be dealt with in a specified time frame.
  • Assures collection of appropriate client assessment information and demographic information.
  • Accurately document service provision and billing information to assure reimbursement.
  • Provides critical incident intervention as indicated when traumatic incidents occur in the workplace.
  • Ensures competence and annual certification in the following areas: CPR and First Aid, and Crisis Intervention.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working conditions: This position is in a flexible shift unit. Employee must be able to work outside normal business hours and perform emergency overtime if necessary pursuant to contract guidelines.


Work Hours: Full Time

2nd Shift

Monday through Friday

10AM-6PM, subject to change Hours can be flexible based on the needs of the case load.

Requirements:
  • Licensure: LSW/ LPC; LISW / LPCC
  • Requirements: 2 years crisis intervention experience; Health Officer designation; Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license; Must be eligible to drive company vehicles and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier; Those who drive personal vehicles in the course of business must be able to furnish proof of active auto insurance.
  • Education: Bachelor's (Required); master’s preferred
  • Ability to work variable hours including on call, evening, weekends and holidays
