CRISIS INTERVENTION SPECIALIST (Part-time/On Call)

Location: Salem OR 97304

Job Status: Part-time/on call

Compensation: DOE, $19-22/hr.

YOUR ROLE:
Crisis Intervention Specialists provide 24-hour Crisis Intervention, suicide prevention, risk assessment, and brief supportive counseling over the phone to clients who are experiencing emotional distress, suicidal ideation, and/or seeking information on available mental health services. The Crisis and Information Hotline answers all calls made to 988 in Marion and Polk counties and acts as after-hours crisis support for multiple community partners. Crisis Intervention Specialists provide Crisis Intervention, risk assessment screening, safety planning, follow-up support, and advocacy based on client's assessed needs. After 90-days of employment there are scheduling options including remote work, if desired and approved. Candidates must be eligible to obtain/maintain a QMHA-R level certification. (Certifications - MHACBO)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree or 2 years of current enrollment in a BA/BS program with a focus in psychology, social work, mental health, or behavioral sciences field. BA/BS degree strongly preferred.
• Combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training, or experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an integrated team.
• Demonstrated ability to use appropriate problem-solving and decision-making skills while working with individuals who may be very escalated or experiencing acute crisis.
• Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care models.
Demonstrated ability to practice self-reflection
