Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Criminal and Family Law Secretary to join our legal team. As our Secretary, you will provide essential support to our attorneys and paralegals in handling Family Law and criminal defense cases. This is a full-time position based in our office in Covington, La.
Duties:
- Greet and assist clients and visitors.
- Organize and maintain case files and documents.
- File, scan, and copy documents.
- Receive and place telephone calls.
- Schedule and calendar appointments.
- Manage the attorney's calendar.
- Assist and support lawyers and paralegals with their work as needed.
- Prepare and draft emails, correspondence, and some legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and agreements.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a legal secretary is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in project management and administrative tasks.
- Possess excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to greet and assist clients in a welcoming and professional manager.
- Experience using computer software, i.e. Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Excellent computer entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
