Job description

Position Summary
This position is responsible for formulating the best possible solutions to meet and/or exceed Clients' expectations with the available supply of aircraft and crews. Proactively creates and maintains extra capacity in fleet to provide recovery options. Supports internal departments by managing fleet movement to meet aircraft maintenance and crew training requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Formulate the best possible solutions to meet or exceed Clients expectations with the available supply of aircraft and crews.
  • Partner and team with internal business partners (i.e. Clients Advisor Team,) to leverage maximum number of available crew pairs and equipment in alignment with pairing rules and aircraft locations.
  • Prioritize and balance resources for Clients needs and crew training needs.
  • Apply knowledge/subject matter expertise regarding pilot currency and qualification requirements and aircraft limitations to build efficient schedules (i.e. to include pilot tags, aircraft registration, international and passenger load capabilities of aircraft, etc.).
  • Meets or exceeds contractual obligations for Clients and manage special requests outside contractual boundaries (i.e. aircraft type, availability, time).
  • Build efficient, financially responsible schedules taking into account aircraft and crew costs.
  • Build schedules to meet aircraft and crew usage objectives.
  • Complete schedules within deadlines or time constraints.
  • Negotiate with AMCC regarding maintenance location and availability of aircraft within timeframes to best fit Clients demand and service requirements.
  • Negotiate with Crew Planning Group to ensure most efficient use of crew members and best fit with Clients demand and service requirements
  • Negotiate with crew members regarding overtime availability.
  • Communicate with internal business partners (i.e. AMCC) regarding aircraft (specific tail number) availability and potential impact on schedules.
  • Communicate information supporting decisions to other departments as necessary.
  • Leverage technology to provide timely information to other departments involved in executing the schedule.
  • Must have excellent oral and written skills of the English language.
  • The ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Analyze and compare information/data from many sources to ensure regulations and union rules are adhered to (i.e. rest and duty day rules).
  • Maintain knowledge/subject matter expertise regarding pilot currency and qualification requirements and aircraft limitations.
  • Coordinate availability of resources (i.e. aircraft) for crew training and operational check flights.
  • Coordinate aircraft arrival at maintenance locations efficiently.
  • Effectively utilizes applicable processes and procedures to complete roles and responsibilities; investigates opportunities to increase process efficiency. Measures the effectiveness and seeks to continually improve the quality of processes.
  • Demonstrates good safety behavior and attitude, follows regulatory practices and rules, recognizes and reports hazards and promotes a safety culture.
  • Others duties as assigned by management or senior leadership

Requirements
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger and required to reach with hands and arms. There is no significant standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. The person in this position needs to be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. There is a constant operation of a telephone and computer. The employee may be lifting up to 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while in an office environment. The work is typically done while sitting at a desk or table. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Experience & Qualifications
The most successful candidate in the position will meet most, if not all, of the following criteria.
  • Minimum two years' prior experience in scheduling
  • Part 135 charter experience preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve in a fast pace environment
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Continual on call availability during non-business hours
  • Associates degree required (Bachelors Degree in Aviation, Aviation Management or similar field preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
  • Two years aviation experience required.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables required.
  • Ability to pinpoint issues and facilitate problem resolution when necessary required.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations required.
  • Pilot or dispatcher certificate preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word and Outlook).
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and strong decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal skills and problem resolution skills are required.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with organization and time management skills.
