Compensation and Benefits:

Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
The Electrical Crew Coordinator's primary responsibility is to assist the Electrical Trades supervisor by coordinating the construction and maintenance activities for the access controls, closed circuit television video surveillance systems and & Fire/Security systems section within the Facilities Division. This positon reports to the Electrical Mechanical Trades Supervisor and will assume partial duties of the Electrical Mechanical Trades Supervisor in their absence. The electrical Crew Coordinator is accountable for the planning, estimating, organizing and reporting of multiple projects assigned to the electrical, Access controls & fire/security work units, crews, and teams. The Electrical Crew Coordinator will oversee and assist with electrical related installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work to include facility access, closed circuit television video surveillance systems and fire & security software systems. This position will also be expected to assist electrical staff with basic repairs and preventative maintenance protocol and procedures. Additional duties will include, but are not limited to: using the EAM work order system to assure quality, efficiency, and timely completion; monitoring of short term and long term projects; coordination with other city forces, outside contractors, utilities, and other agencies; assuring safe work practices are followed; intermediate and final inspections of work, preparing cost estimates and tracking of actual costs; evaluation of work methods, materials; and preparing work management records. The employee in this position will evaluate and respond to customer concerns in a timely manner. The employee must have and maintain required certifications and have knowledge of practices and procedures used for the construction and maintenance electrical systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and CCTV systems, any software associated with access/security/life safety, work hazards, and safety procedures. Knowledge of the latest codes and procedures related to Life safety systems and compliance with Occupational Safety Health Administration safety policies and procedures is essential. This person must be able to oversee and communicate effectively with teams, supervisors, and customers. A SP-FA/LV (special restricted fire alarm/low voltage) electrical license is required for this position or must be obtained within 18 months of employment in order to remain in the position.
