Job Description
**We currently have 2 positions available. One full time: M-F 8:30-5 PM and one part time: Sat-Sun 10 hour shifts
**You must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
The Crematory Operator is responsible for providing cremation services and managing the overall process to ensure expectations of client families are exceeded.
Responsibilities Include:
Operates cremation equipment and chamber/retort.
Is responsible for the daily scheduling and activities for the crematory.
Receives decedent(s) and ensures proper paperwork and protocol is followed.
Visually inspects the body to verify all jewelry, pacemakers, and prosthetics are removed.
Performs verification/identification of the deceased and reviews required documentation prior to performing cremation.
Fully cleans crematory equipment (e.g., retort) after each cremation
Maintains log of all cremations in accordance with state and/or local requirements.
Performs general maintenance and care of crematory equipment.
Maintains crematory building and adjacent areas by cleaning, sweeping, etc.
Ensures that all required safety equipment requirements and procedures are followed when performing any task.
Complies with local laws and guidelines concerning retort operation and storage/use of chemical substances.
Works under limited general supervision.
May be required to assist in loading and unloading of supplies, equipment, and/or merchandise.
