SUMMARY

Alaska Industrial Hardware, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is actively seeking a motivated individual to fill our entry-level Credit Specialist position. As a Credit Specialist, you will be trained to assist in evaluating credit applications, analyzing financial data, and contributing to the overall credit assessment process. This role provides an excellent opportunity for career growth and skill development in the field of credit management. We are looking for candidates with a keen attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and effective communication skills. This position would be ideal for a recent graduate or someone looking to start a career in finance or accounting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide excellent customer service.
• Communicate with customers through various methods to include; telephonic, written, and verbal.
• Diligent record keeping for customer files.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• One (1) year of previous experience in related field.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products to include mid-level efficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress situations.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
• 10-key and general typing/data entry experience.

Preferred qualifications/skills/experience:

• Customer Service and/or Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience.
• Knowledge of billing and collections procedures including understanding Fair Debt Collections Practices regulations.
• Familiarity with commercial accounts in construction, oil& gas industries as well as government and Alaska non-profit organizations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an office setting working in close proximity with other Accounting Department Team members and exposure to multiple computer screens. Requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.  The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional overtime may be required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background/credit check.  Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
