Credit Counselor

Since 2002, DebtWave has been helping consumers pay off their credit card debt through financial education, budgeting and its debt management program. We are considered one of the top ten credit counseling agencies in the nation based on quality of customer service, volume of clients and overall size of company.
As a Credit Counselor you will be the initial point of contact for new clients seeking help with their credit card debt. You will be required to:

• Build Rapport
• View and Analyze financial information listed on client's credit report
• Collect and Analyze client's monthly expenses including giving advice on categories to cut back
• Provide Solutions for clients to pay off credit card debt including our Debt Management Program
• Enroll Clients onto our Debt Management Program

We provide warm leads, most of which are live transfers or incoming calls.
Our Debt Management Program provides our clients a safe and practical way to pay back their credit card debt. Clients typically receive the following benefits:

• Lower Interest Rates
• Lower Monthly Payments
• One Consolidated Payment
• Debt Free in 3-5 years

We are looking for polished and articulate individuals who we can train to become Certified Personal Financial Counselors (CPFC). Our counselors enroll clients from across the country in our debt management program. Our goal is to help individuals and families to get out debt with the least possible cost by educating the consumer and recommending the appropriate solutions. Successful Credit Counselors have a drive to achieve goals, are optimistic and can build rapport quickly with clients.
We offer an extensive full-time paid training program, scripts, technology and tools to help you meet your quotas. After training is completed, you will continue to receive a competitive base pay, plus an opportunity to earn additional monetary awards and bonuses monthly.
What does it take to become a counselor with DebtWave?

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 1-2 years inside sales experience.
• Ability to write professional informative email communications and contact notes.
• Empathy and willingness to assist consumers in experiencing a financial hardship.
• A stellar work ethic including a record of punctuality and outstanding attendance.
• Ability to motivate, influence and help change consumers spending habits.
• Ability to learn new software
• Excellent rapport building skills.
• Must enjoy working in call center environment.
• Must be extremely ambitious, energetic, and a self-starter.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred but not required.
• Full time only. Mon Fri. Some Saturdays required.
