The Team Lead of Credit Balance (Remote) is responsible for providing guidance and support to the Credit Balance team. This position will collaborate with internal teams, direct team on Credit Balance processes/procedures and serve as a contact for external customers. The incumbent will ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency and remain in alignment with overall company goals and initiatives. The Team Lead must follow strict patient privacy procedures and maintain a friendly and professional working atmosphere.
The Responsibilities
- Performs normal Credit Balance duties which includes but is not limited to processing payments, refunds, and Telehealth Payments
- Leads, mentors, and coordinates workload to ensure the achievement of performance targets (Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Annual goals)
- Provides comprehensive training to new and current employees to maintain the highest level of staff competency.
- Develops, updates, and distributes training material as well as maintains training logs/checklists.
- Provides additional training as necessitated by new software, procedures, or staff needs.
- Responds to team members’ inquiries regarding Credit Balance processes in a timely manner.
- Acts as point of escalation on problem or difficult payments, payer issues and patient complaints
- Provides feedback to the Cash Management Manager on process improvements, patient issues and/or employee matters.
- Assists with monitoring and recording production numbers and quality report outcomes.
The Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of Cash Management/Credit Balances/Accounts Receivable experience required; physician and/or mental health billing preferred.
- Prior Team Lead and/or supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Strong math, analytical and reasoning skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff, and other customers.
