Job description

The proactive management of a portfolio of customers is the responsibility of the Credit Analyst. This is performed by gathering the appropriate quantity of information and manually analyzing buyers in accordance with the criteria that have been established. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Proactively maintains buyer portfolio within parameters agreed upon with the Regional Director of Information and grading, applying solid credit analysis procedures.
  • Conduct financial and credit analysis to determine the proper credit rating for the company under consideration.
  • Conduct phone interviews to acquire the necessary information to evaluate buyers.
  • Through phone calls to purchasers and banks, realizes and maintains multiple contacts with buyers.
  • Examine industry conditions and present EHNA exposures to make portfolio recommendations to increase or decrease aggregate coverage.
  • Communicates underwriting requirements on industry outlooks and target markets with Sales Agents, Commercial Underwriters, and/or clients.
  • Assist in the development of industry sector outlooks (using both public and proprietary data) to identify underlying market trends.

Required Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance, MBA preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in financial management experience in banking, credit insurance brokerage or a credit insurance environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, with an understanding of financial software and spreadsheet packages
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, capacity to communicate with 3rd parties in order to get info.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and self motivation.
  • Ability to work in a team and ensure good relationships with Risk Underwriting team.
