This Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for:
- Processing applications for appointments, re-appointments and clinical privileges.
- Reviewing and evaluating applications, including evidence of education, training, experience & competency, to determine eligibility for membership and clinical privileges, in accordance with our policies, procedures and accreditation standards. Obtaining primary source verifications. Identifying discrepancies and obtaining clarification. Maintaining contact with stakeholders throughout the process in a customer-focused manner. Escalating any concerns and resolving issues throughout the process.
- Maintaining confidential credentialing files. Enrolling & maintaining enrollment and terminating at members with the appropriate malpractice carrier.
- Providing the highest level of service to all customers as demonstrated through the core values of the enterprise. Implementing office goals and objectives using continuous process improvement methods. Maintaining relationships and serves as liaison between Medical Staff Services & clinical departments & divisions, and their Chief(s), enterprise-wide to addressing questions and concerns. Teaching & providing expertise to managers, medical staff & staff on credentialing processes, requirements & regulations. Applying relevant Medical Staff Bylaws & Rules & Regulations and any other relevant regulatory standards.
- Maintaining medical staff records as well as physician databases ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and stored in accordance with policy. (MD Staff)
To qualify, you must have:
- An Associate’s Degree in Medical Staff Services Science, Health Care Admin or a closely related field, or 1 year of basic technical training and 1+ years’ experience preferably with medical staff credentialing
- Strong organizational skills, detail-orientation, ability to prioritize and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent Analytical skills to problem solve
- Strong communication and customer focus skills
- Commitment to professional growth and development, including: NAMSS certification attainment or preparations (certification is not required)
- Commitment to accuracy through continuous assessments, goal creation and attainment to foster development & learning
- Commitment to continuous process improvement
