Medical Staff Services Coordinator Full Time Days Position Summary
Primary location Rock Hill
Coordinates information flow between two or more areas of a single function. Under general supervision may schedule activities, delegate responsibilities and/or provide notification to others as to status of the function.
Responsibilities
Receive and process medical staff applications and re-applications. Works with medical staff committees on agenda and minutes. Provides clerical support as needed.
Facilitate determination of eligibility, applications and reappointments, verify information, research details and assure the processes are accurate and completed in a timely manner; and maintenance of highly confidential credentialing files.
Maintain up to date data for each provider in credentialing database and online systems; ensure timely expirables for credentialed providers at all entities.
Assignments are planned and executed assuring compliance with established policies and procedures, Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and accreditation standards
Critically examines researches, enters data, files, and gathers all information to support the credentialing process.
Verifies researches and responds to emails, telephone inquiries, and written inquiries from providers and other departments, pertaining to provider participation and credentialing status in a professional and courteous manner.
Works closely with the Director of Medical Staff Services and Medical Staff Coordinator and the applicant to keep them informed on the status of their application.
Obtains appropriate approval signatures and notifies the applicant in a timely fashion of their appointments and updates the appropriate credential files.
Maintains systems to identify medical staff members and allied health professionals and their clinical privileges; prepare and maintain other related records and reports.
Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the credentialing and privileging database system and for data entry performed by personnel in the Medical Staff Services Office.
Tracks expirations for all credentialed providers to ensure timely renewals
Demonstrates the ability to adapt to new ideas and changes in the work load and work environment.
Works effectively in a team environment to coordinate all credentialing processes.
Performs all clerical and other work related duties of the position.
THE CREDENTIALING COORDINATOR FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Education
Required: High School Graduate or equivalent
Experience
Preferred: 3 years in Medical Staff support role
