Position Information Position Description & Details: Summer internship at an agricultural research center responsible for assisting scientists and technicians in processes of a livestock research program. Position requires diverse skills with major responsibilities to include livestock care and data collection, facility maintenance, grounds maintenance activities, and equipment operation. Responsibilities: Assistance with animal care, weighing, sorting, and moving cattle; facility maintenance including fencing and pen cleaning; mowing and grounds maintenance; and assisting with haying operations.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM , with potential duties on select weekends. Advertised Salary: Commensurate with experience. Minimum Qualifications: Working knowledge in beef cattle handling Capable of working outside, accomplishing multiple tasks in various weather conditions including high heat and humidity, precipitation, and high wind Enter data using Excel Basic understanding of livestock husbandry Ability to operate farm equipment including UTV, tractor, skidsteer Ability and willingness to work both independently and as a member of a team Valid drivers license Preferred Qualifications Greater than three years' experience of direct participation in livestock production and management Experience with assisting cows at calving and calf care Experience with livestock research procedures and trial management Experience with equipment operation including hay and forage harvest Applicant Materials Required: Cover Letter Resume Official transcripts Please include within application if you are currently or have in the past 12 months been employed with NDSU, the North Dakota University System or any other North Dakota State agency.
