Creative Lab Specialist
The Creative Lab Department is seeking a full time Creative Lab Specialist to assist with the daily operation of the Creative Lab to ensure customers are utilizing equipment to safely and creatively explore a range of technologies.
Salary: $48,041
Hours: 40 hours per week, evenings and weekends required
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Proactively assist customers to ensure they are making effective use of technology resources.
2. Monitors the Creative Lab's technology and resources to ensure longevity and continued use.
3. Works cooperatively with the Creative Lab staff in supporting the day-to-day activities of the Makerspace.
4. Assists in creating educational opportunities for teens and adults to encourage new and continued use of lab technology and library services.
5. Works with the Creative Lab Manager in the development and implementation of services for staff and customers to ensure the effective use of all Creative Lab resources.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience required.
• Experience working and providing instruction to youth ages 11-17 and adults while having the ability to effectively communicate technical information.
• Must possess a commitment to a high level of public service to Library customers.
• Direct experience using and working with equipment normally found in a Makerspace (3D printers, audio/video editing and recording software, etc.) required.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of: Mac and PC technology, Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), GSuite (Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail), Chromebooks, Cloud storage, Digital creative software and hardware (including Adobe Creative Suite, audio and video production, virtual reality, game development, 3D modeling and 3D printers).
• Must possess good judgment, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Must possess excellent communication and organization skills.
• Skills to provide training and support for patrons and staff.
• Ability to acquire and demonstrate working knowledge of new and/or unfamiliar software, hardware, equipment, and emerging technologies.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift or sit for up to 8 hours per shift
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend and reach under tables and confined spaces to connected cables and cords
• Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to operate various types of Library equipment
• Ability to use a pc, word processing, email, and Google Suite
• Ability to deal sensitively and tactfully with customers and staff
