Oklahoma Christian University Esports is a premier nationally-recognized collegiate esports program ranked in the top 10 for competitive success. OC is a 4-year, private, non-profit higher education university located in Edmond, Oklahoma and is home to over 60 degrees and over 2000 students. OC Esports is housed under the Athletics branch of the university and has 4 years of legacy and history backing its prominence. The program has won 9 National Championship titles and competes in games like Call of Duty, League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League, Rainbow 6: Siege, VR: Beat Saber, Tekken, Street Fighter, and more.

This position will start in Fall 2024, on or near the date August 12th, 2024 and will run until the date on or near May 1st, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive OC esports broadcasting program that includes live streams, pre-recorded media, and social media content.
  • Grow and maintain high standards of production quality and ensure adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Review and provide feedback on content and production elements to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Oversee production of all creative requests within OC Esports, ensuring delivery of assets that are on time, on budget, and of a high standard.
  • Develop comprehensive media-related obligations to enhance the visibility and quality of the OC esports program. Including, and not limited to: team photos, daily filming, sit-down interviews, content pieces, etc.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and broadcast of all OC esports events and competitive matches, including commentary and volunteer schedules.
  • Manage broadcast equipment and ensure all hardware and software are up-to-date and functioning properly.
  • Recruit and train students on broadcasting techniques, on-air hosting, and general video production techniques.
  • Collaborate with OC esports teams to create engaging and informative broadcasts.
  • Collaborate with other university departments and student organizations to create cross-functional esports events.
  • Stay current on industry trends and technologies, and incorporate new ideas and innovations into the broadcasting program.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree obtained, looking to seek a Master's degree offered at OC.
  • 2+ years experience managing a content creation team with high-quality content production and timely delivery, preferably in esports or related activity.
  • 2+ years experience and knowledge of VMix, and/or OBS software at a program level, not including personal livestreaming.
  • Expert knowledge of Esports broadcasting equipment, software/plugins, and best practices.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience creating visual assets for digital and print media.
  • Strong graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and strategies.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with esports at the collegiate level.
  • Experience supervising student staff and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of popular social media and proven track record of managing social media channels.
  • Knowledge of photo editing and video editing software, preferably the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Prior experience in a creative role or with Esports is a plus.

Compensation

This role is eligible for a full 2-year Graduate Assistant benefit package, including the following:

  • Full-tuition scholarship including fees, books, and classes for any Master's degree at Oklahoma Christian University.
  • Full coverage for both Room & Board at Oklahoma Christian University.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15,000.00 - $25,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
