The ‘24 election cycle is heating up and we're offering an opportunity to be a part of our digital marketing team in Alexandria, Virginia (Old Town). Come work with a talented group of dynamic conservatives in the exciting world of digital media!

We’re hiring a Creative Associateto join our Alexandria office!

Who We Need

PHOTOSHOP NINJA. We're looking for athletes! Talented creators who can help us make display ads, cool merch designs, banner ads, email and text graphics (MMS), client proposals and pitch decks, logos, wireframes, mock-ups, etc. If you know a lot of keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop and Illustrator, let's chat!

DESIGN PRINCIPLES. Must know basic digital ads design. Color theory, padding, layout, good use of white space & logo placement, headlines and subheadlines, calls to action, buttons, etc.

TRACK RECORD. We care about what's in your portfolio, not what's on your resume. If you have a track record of people clicking on your stuff, show us the engagement and let's chat.

CONSERVATIVE. You won't be visually persuasive in our industry if you don't understand how to make content that vibes with conservatives and right-of-center audiences, generally. You don't have to be a wonk, but you need to at least vibe with conservative values and Republican politics.

TURNAROUND. We do a lot of political fundraising in election years, and Presidential election years are the Wild West! The right candidate will be expected to turn ad content around in minutes and hours, not days or weeks. The political news cycle moves INSANELY FAST and our back is constantly against a wall. Our job is to get good creative into America's bloodstream before the world moves on to the next thing.

Responsibilities

• Create digital ads and cool merch for our clients
• Build and maintain asset libraries to ensure you're always delivering content fast
• Assist with all visual media and Graphic Design needs, generally
• Synthesize direction and client feedback into finished deliverables
• Keep abreast of current events for a specific client or political candidate

Required Skills

• Design and ads experience
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) - (After Effects a plus!)
• Track record for making ads that perform
• You thrive in fast-paced environments and adapt well to change
• You can take direction (and criticism), but you can also execute at a high level without direction
• You have an awesome portfolio (Send link.)

Everyone at Starboard wears multiple hats. If you have skills beyond the above, let us know! Ideal candidate will work in-office, but open to remote for the right candidate with demonstrated experience in politics.
