Job Description
- 3rd Shift from 330pm to 2am
Overhead Crane Operator/Material Handler Essential Job Functions and Basic Duties include the following:
Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product for final distribution.
Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
Documents materials and records units delivered and location of units.
Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections.
Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks.
Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Additional duties and tasks may be assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak proficient English.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Previous experience operating a crane with use of magnets preferred and a plus but not required.
- Previous stock and/or inventory a plus
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Must have the ability to read a variety of documents, instruction manuals, signs, reports, and other items.
- Must be able to perform and understand basic math skills and simple measurements.
- Must be able to work in an environment where personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
- Must be able to work in an environment that can be hot and/or cold and may require working in different types of weather.
- Must be able to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to make small movements, pick up small items, feel/grasp items, and maneuver items.
- Must be able to talk loudly, quickly, and clearly over loud sounds in the working environment.
- Must be able to hear average and normal conversations and sounds.
- Must have average/ordinary vision to inspect and operate machinery and prepare documents.
- May be occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and/or crawl.
Shifts:
- This position can work in shifts up to 12 hours per day.
- Shift times and work days may change based on production and fulfillment of orders.
- Each shift does offer a 30-minute lunch for all employees who work over 8 hours on a shift.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
