Residential Lending Providence County

Reports To: 1st Vice President – Lending Operations

OVERVIEW:
This role is pivotal in developing, originating, and tracking residential loan production with a primary focus on Community Reinvestment Lending. Operating in an outside sales capacity within an assigned territory, the officer ensures alignment with the Bank’s policies and adherence to regulatory compliance objectives.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers and the community in which it serves.
1. Actively develops and nurtures relationships with community organizations, local housing authorities, and community groups. This involves understanding their needs, collaborating on Community Development initiatives, and providing expert mortgage lending advice to support community reinvestment and development goals. Engages in regular outreach and participation in community events to foster strong community ties and enhance the bank’s presence and contribution to Community Development.

2. Originates residential loan products, specializing in Community Reinvestment product lines, to meet sales and service goals while ensuring a high level of customer service throughout the mortgage origination process.

3. Engages with applicants taking applications offsite and acting as a liaison throughout the application and closing process. Reviews and implements strategies to enhance business generation and inter-departmental support.

4. Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources (real estate brokers, attorneys, builders) within the assigned territory to foster business development and communicate new programs or procedures.

5. Participates in community and business organizations, including the Bank Charitable Foundation, to promote the Bank and provide educational seminars for potential borrowers and brokers.

6. Stays informed on regulatory, legislative, and competitive developments in residential lending. Attends relevant courses and seminars for continual professional development.

7. Ensures all activities comply with regulatory requirements and the Bank's policies.

8. Performs administrative duties and attends meetings as required, primarily at the Bank's offices.

9. Analyzes customer financial information to determine suitable financial products or financing options, offering advice on various financing alternatives.
10. Maintains registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and adheres to its standards.


OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in Spanish is required. Multilingual capabilities, including fluency in other languages spoken within the community, are a significant plus.

  2. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in specialized coursework and training.
  3. 3 years of experience in mortgage origination or related sales.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of mortgage lending, financial statement analysis, credit risk, installment lending, and general business finance.
  5. Familiarity with community lending products and services, with excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, across a variety of audiences.
  7. Valid driver's license.

Establishes work plans and operates independently within established guidelines and practices, referring specific problems to the manager for policy and procedure clarification
