Cpt Food Warehouse Attendant

Summary / Purpose of Position: Supports the Food Warehouse Manager by receiving, organizing, sorting and moving food and supplies within the warehouse. Assists the shelters of Miracle Hill Ministries with obtaining food and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help organize and maintain warehouse; Rotate stock and keep in date perishables from canned products to produce using FIFO method (First-in/First-out).
• Help with organizing food drives-locations, barrels delivered, timeframes, and once the drive has been completed, gathering the donated items and barrels, and returning them to the warehouse.
• Assist with Food Warehouse cleanliness and organization.
• Assist with organizing and sorting gaylord boxes.
• Help with the Food Box Ministry when needed.
• Maintain the integrity of the building and equipment and facilitate maintenance of said equipment.
• Facilitate/assist the shelters with their needs and strive to meet those needs regarding not only food, but cleaning supplies, hygiene products, etc.
• Be compassionate and courteous when someone either calls on the phone, or comes to the door asking for assistance, and give these people the necessary information to direct them to assistance.
• Have a willingness to share the good news of Jesus Christ, give a personal testimony and pray with/for those served by the ministry.
• Other duties as assigned by the Food Warehouse manager and Food Warehouse director.
• Follow food safety and warehouse physical safety guidelines to help ensure injuries and illness do not occur.
• Help ensure warehouse distribution and receiving guidelines are adhered to by allowing equitable distribution to MHM facilities and guarding against unauthorized removal of food assets and property.

Supervisory Responsibilities under the direction of the Warehouse Manager: There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Qualifications:

• Education or equivalent experience: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Years of experience: One to two years of experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Operate pallet jacks and forklift, or willingness to become certified.

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds of donations on a regular basis.
• Ability to reach into the bottom of a Gaylord box.
