We are currently seeking a Part-Time Court Reporter Trainee to join our team. In this role, you will receive hands-on training and guidance to develop the skills necessary to become a successful COURT REPORTER.
Responsibilities:
Attend depositions, court hearings and legal proceedings in person and remotely.
Learn to operate (digital recording) equipment (provided) and transcription software.
Develop proficiency in editing verbatim records with accuracy.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive legal information.
Requirements:
Must be or be willing to become a Massachusetts Notary Public.
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to proceedings. (Mileage reimbursed.)
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation: Stipend while training, $25 per hour thereafter. Training time varies depending on the individual.
Note on hours: This position offers varied hours to accommodate our clients’ schedules. While some flexibility is available, the nature of the job may require adjustments to the work schedule on short notice. Our typical reporter works 10 to 20 hours per week.
