We are pleased to announce that the Statewide Programs Unit within the Court Services Division of the State Court Administrator's Office is looking for a skilled Court Interpreter Program Coordinator. The Court Interpreter Program Coordinator will support access to justice by coordinating all aspects of the statewide Court Interpreter Program, which ensures people who cannot speak English, are deaf, or have other communication limitations have equal access to participate in court cases.The following are examples of major job duties expected for this position to perform.
  • Maintain the statewide roster of Court Interpreters which includes interpreter recruitment, testing and training.
  • Develop, make recommendations, and maintain program related policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the product owner on the Interpreter Resource Management Application (IRMA) ongoing development and functionality.
  • Analyze program data, including processes and procedures, to make best practice recommendations for local courts and continuous improvement recommendations to leadership.
  • Collaborate with the statewide and local scheduling units for effective scheduling of interpreters.
  • Develop and provide training for judges, court staff, interpreters, and justice partners.
Below are the past experiences that will enable success in the role. For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in political science, public affairs, criminal justice, sociology or related area.
  • 3-5 years of experience in court administration, criminal justice, social science research, or a closely related area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of court administration
  • Considerable knowledge of project planning, implementation, and evaluation techniques
  • Ability to lead employees on projects and work products in a manner conducive to high moral and productivity.
  • Ability to support, lead, and advise tasks forces and committees.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to collaborate with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan and conduct meetings and direct projects effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with best practices for Court Interpreters, including standards set by the National Center for State Courts.
  • Extensive experience analyzing and presenting data and other program related materials to varied groups, including executive leadership.
Salary
The expected starting salary range for external candidates is $37.43-$47.74 per hour ($78,154-$99,681 annually). The full salary range for this position is $37.43-$58.04 per hour ($78,154-$121,188 annually). This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of MN employee benefits.

This full-time position is classified as Court Operations Analyst II. The position will typically work normal business hours Monday through Friday, with occasional hours outside normal business required. This work will be conducted in a hybrid environment with 3-4 days per month in person at the Minnesota Judicial Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Additionally, business travel is required 2-3 times per year. Immediate business travel is planned for May 19-22, 2024.
