Job Description
ChromeCare provides break/fix services to 400+ school districts with 600,000+ Chromebooks, Desktops, and Notebooks of varying models and ages covered under our warranty program. ChromeCare’s mission is to build long-lasting relationships focused on the success of our clients, and to provide outstanding service that exceeds expectations. We are looking for a COURIER DRIVER who is reliable, efficient, and has the ability to think on their feet. In this role you will handle, pickup and delivery of packages of various sizes and weights from clients in many locations throughout Wisconsin and Illinois, while providing our clients with Peace of Mind.
Job Responsibilities
- Possess and maintain valid drivers license with safe driving record.
- Operate motor vehicle in safe and legal manner.
- Operate Nissan NV200 Courier Van. Occasionally operate 24-foot box truck. Necessary training available as required.
- Be able to quickly locate specific addresses as laid out on the courier route sheet.
- Hand-load/unload material, as required, with assistance from hand cart.
- Walk and climb stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly, as required.
- Possess sufficient literacy skills to read addresses and specific instructions efficiently, and complete required paperwork.
- Maintain communication and a cooperative, professional relationship with clients and other ChromeCare employees.
Accountabilities:
- Deliver packages safely and in a timely manner.
- Be available to work assigned and on-call shifts.
- Business casual clothing and approved footwear must be worn at all times while on the job.
- Know, understand, and follow all company safety and security policies.
Job Specifications:
- No formal requirements; must be literate and fluent in English.
- No delivery experience required but helpful.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 7 year proven safe driving record. No more than 1 minor moving violation within the last 3 years or DUI/Careless driving within 5 years.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Walking and climbing stairs.
- Be able to sit in vehicle for extended periods of time and move in and out of vehicle as needed.
- Pass Department of Transportation physical and/or drug and alcohol screen (when required).
Working Conditions:
- Most working time spent in vehicle or loading/unloading packages at our office in Milwaukee and School Districts throughout Wisconsin and Illinois.
- Required to drive safely in all kinds of conditions (adverse weather conditions, traffic, etc.).
- No smoking is allowed on the job. Smoking is not allowed in vehicles.
