Job Type: Part-Time (up to 20 hours per week)

Purpose: The Courier Driver delivers library materials, furniture, equipment, and event supplies to library locations throughout Douglas County by driving a box truck.
*Finalists will be required to participate in a drivers test as a part of the interview process and show record of a valid and unexpired drivers license upon testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
70% Material Delivery and Sorting
- Drives the box truck between Douglas County Libraries Locations, vendor locations, and storage facilities in order to pick up and deliver materials, furniture, equipment and event supplies.
- Loads bins of library materials on to a box truck and sorts for delivery to various locations.
- Operates and uses required tools and equipment skillfully and safely.
- Demonstrate effective skills in cross-trained job functions and duties. Collaborate with a variety of teams at any DCL location.
- Creates a positive experience for library customers by effectively and efficiently performing job tasks; presents a positive image of the library in attitude, communications, language, and appearance while performing duties in public and staff areas.
10% Light Vehicle Maintenance
- Fills the vehicle with gas.
- Collects and submits necessary paperwork for vehicle maintenance and budget needs.
- Reports vehicle mechanical difficulties or damage to the Manager.
- Performs regular vehicle cleaning and inspection and reports issues to appropriate channels.
- Drives vehicle to and from shop for repairs or routine maintenance as needed.
10% General Library Support
- Perform manual labor duties including moving furniture, moving and hauling seasonal collections, event set up and tear down, and other duties.
10% Administrative
- Stays abreast of DCL updates by reading emails and responding to messages in a timely manner.
- Master scheduling software and required processes to cover delivery and other assignments.
- Engages in the DCL performance feedback system and completes the expectations outlined by your supervisor and department/division.
- Learns, uses and applies industry and organization-specific technology as needed.
Performs other work duties as assigned and requested.

Requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
Required
- At least six months of delivery driver or related experience.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to drive a delivery van with automatic transmission.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and complete the job as efficiently as possible
Preferred
- High School graduate
- Previous delivery driver experience using a light duty delivery van or box truck.
- Previous experience loading and unloading regular and bulky materials.
- Basic technology skills for Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Office 365.
A combination of experience and education will be considered.
Physical Requirements: Ability to drive between various branches. Must have the physical ability, stamina, mobility and manual dexterity to support a 7-day a week operation. Handle materials, push/pull loads with a force of up to 35 pounds, carry 15 pounds, lift up to 35 pounds, and grip up to 15 pounds, repetitively. Kneel, squat, climb, and work at a computer workstation, frequently. Vision is 20/40 or better in either eye with or without corrective lenses, and total combined horizontal field of vision, with both eyes, of at least 120 degrees.
