POSITION SUMMARY
The Courier Coordinator at Warde Lab leads and coordinates activities of courier staff, including but not limited to, filling client orders, client deliveries, daily route sheets, maintaining vehicle records, local and STAT runs, general record keeping and assist in maintaining the Warde recycling program. Update route log sheets, cover routes as needed, serve as a liaison with contracted couriers, create, document and update procedures as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exercise functional supervision to Laboratory Services couriers by determining work procedures, preparing work schedules and assigning duties on an as needed basis. Ensures appropriate staffing levels for Lab Service personnel in matters related to courier staff.
- Monitors and ensures quality of work assignments by working closely with manager and staff. Includes review of day-to-day job performance with staff related to quality and promptness.
- Orient and trains new Lab Service personnel. Assists in performance evaluation of Laboratory Services Personnel.
- Resolves procedural or minor employee relations problems which may arise.
- Maintain route logs, updating as needed.
- Ensures accuracy and delivery of client orders.
- Maintain vehicle records.
- Serves as a liaison with contracted couriers.
- Create, document and update procedures.
- As needed, receives and delivers incoming freight, checks freight bills and packing lists for accuracy, reconciles shipments with purchase orders, and prepares receiving documents. Assists in preparing outbound freight for shipment by local and interstate carriers, organizes and prioritizes daily receiving dock activities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
High school diploma or equivalent vocational training. 6-12 related experience, including leadership. Must have a valid driver's license.

Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with customers and staff.
