Job description

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) seeks motivated professionals who want to use their talents and skills to make a difference. Our 750+ FTE staff are adaptive problem solvers and passionate about enriching people's lives. If you are mission-driven, dedicated to superior service and support, and can diligently work independently in a collaborative environment, we would love for you to join our team. LAHSA is leading the fight to end homelessness in LA City. Here, not only would your work have a real impact on the community, but we also offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.

Created in 1993, LAHSA is a joint powers authority of the city and county of Los Angeles. As the lead agency in the HUD-funded Los Angeles Continuum of Care (CoC), we coordinate and manage over $800 million annually in federal, state, county, and city funds for programs providing shelter, housing, and services to people experiencing homelessness.

Under the direction of the Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Matching Supervisor and in integral partnership with other members of the Permanent Housing Department and the Systems and Planning Department, the Countywide Matcher, Permanent Housing (Countywide Matcher) matches permanent housing resources throughout Los Angeles County. The Countywide Matcher tracks and analyzes data to support system utilization. The Countywide Matcher represents LAHSA and its role as the homeless system administrator for Los Angeles County.
  • Match Permanent Housing resources throughout the County. This includes but is not limited to Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHV) and Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV).
  • Support the integration of housing resources into the Coordinated Entry System. This may include partner calls, data entry, or data reconciliation.
  • Run reports to track and analyze data to ensure the appropriate and timely utilization of all housing resources available through CES, with an eye for equity. Support inventory tracking to ensure high resource utilization.
  • Work collaboratively with LAHSA's IT and HMIS Departments to implement technological enhancements to improve matching.
  • Observe and track the efficacy of new systems and processes, making recommendations for system changes and improvements, as necessary.
  • Support for all elements of the Coordinated Entry System, as directed by the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Understanding of the Coordinated Entry System.
  • Ability to learn concepts and skills necessary to work towards project goals.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs/demands of the system.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Self-motivated to produce quality results. Sets a high standard for personal and team performance with a focus on results.
  • The successful candidate will be a collaborative problem solver. Her/his work will be driven by strategic and design thinking and executed with creativity and efficiency. She/he will demonstrate patience and a commitment to treating others with respect.

  • Proven professional experience and educational background.

Schedule
  • The Chief Executive Officer or designee may change the schedule of positions between remote, hybrid and onsite, as necessary to accomplish LAHSA's business needs.

Appointments are typically made between the minimum and the midpoint of the range, depending on factors such as experience, education, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
Applicants may make a reasonable accommodation request for this job by calling the Human Resources Department at (213) 683-3333; or via email at humanresources@lahsa.org. Employment Type: Full-time
