The Pike County District Attorney’s Office is accepting applications for the position of County Detective.
Successful candidate must be Act 120 certified or able to obtain a waiver of training and become certified. County detectives investigate violations of Pennsylvania criminal statutes, including but not limited to the Pennsylvania Crimes Code (Title 18, Pa CS) and the Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act. County detectives work in plain clothes and are required to work efficiently and both independently and as a team member. County detectives must demonstrate an ability to use considerable discretion and apply specialized knowledge and ability in conducting overt and covert investigations, apprehending suspects and preparing cases for court. Incumbent is assigned cases and tasks by the Chief County Detective and is expected to follow through to a successful conclusion. Incumbent reports to the Chief County Detective and carries out other tasks and duties as assigned by the Chief County Detective and the District Attorney.
Starting salary for 2024: $55,00.00 per annum, plus comprehensive fringe benefits. A potential for higher starting salary based on prior experience.
