Counter Person

We’re looking for a counterperson to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea, prepare pastries and sandwiches and provide an excellent cafe experience for customers.

Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, upselling specials, and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should possess strong customer service skills and knowledge of espresso machines and other coffee equipment operations. This position involves shift work for early mornings, evenings and holidays. This position is in person located in Cumberland Rhode Island.

Responsibilities Include:

· Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders.

· Preparing and serving beverages such as coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, and other specialty drinks.

- Make breakfast & lunch sandwiches.

- Stock the fridge with freshly prepared lunch sandwiches.

· Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches, and pastries.

· Answering customers’ questions about menu choices.

· Promoting and recommending menu options to customers.

· Taking payment from customers.

· Tracking inventory for cafe and beverage supplies, such as coffee beans, milk, napkins, silverware, and cups

· Daily cleaning of espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment and reporting any issues to a manager.

· Keeping the work environment and cafe seating area clean, sanitary and organized.

· Responding to and resolving customer concerns or complaints.

· Excellent listening and communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers and customers.

Qualifications:

- Must be a reliable & dependable team member

· Previous experience in customer facing sales role.

· Strong teamwork abilities to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.

· Attention to detail to manage specific customer requests as well as a high-volume beverage assembly line with minimal errors.

· Time management and organizational skills to work efficiently and effectively in a high-volume workplace.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
