Count-Room Staff
Well established, family owned business seeks honest, reliable person who is good with numbers to work in our Count Room. Applicant would be working with one other staff member to count the gaming chips that come in from the tables.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is honest without exception and can produce several references (both personal and professional) happy to attest to that fact. S/he has excellent basic math skills and demonstrates an attention to detail. Accuracy and attention to detail are key in this position.
You must be 21 years of age or older and have a clean criminal record.
About the job:
Count staff are responsible for accurately counting chips and recording their values. One person on the team counts while the other watches and records the count on a paper spreadsheet. The counter lifts a metal box, that is full of chips, onto a count table. They will unlock the box and dump the contents onto the table in a pile. They will then separate the chips by denomination, stack them, and then put them into trays that hold exactly 100 chips. Once they have counted a box, they will open the next box and repeat the procedure. There are 19 boxes per shift and three shifts to count each day.
Part-time
Job pays $25/hour. Schedule is four shifts/week 11:00 am to about 2:00pm Sun, Tue, Weds, and Fri. A shift takes about 3 hours/day.

Must be able to lift metal boxes ranging from 5-25 lbs regularly with or without reasonable accommodation.

If hired, candidate must apply for and obtain a work permit with the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department in order to begin working. You will pay $167 for the application fees. They will check your criminal background. Felonies, dishonesty, or stealing will result in automatic denial. Any other arrest may delay the process significantly.
Applicants will be required to take a written test to demonstrate basic math skills.
