Summary:
- We are hiring 1 full time COTA: for our clients in Montgomery County and 1 full time COTA for our clients in Prince George's County/AA County.
- 69k-72k annually depending on experience.
- + $5,400. untaxable Gas/car maintenance annually (given biweekly as a non-taxable gas reimbursement of $207.70 on top of your regular paycheck).
- Benefits: CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield medical, vision, and dental benefits, 401K, paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays.
- This is a W-2 position with the employer covering 50% of Social Security taxes on your behalf.
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant's responsibilities include following the Occupational Therapist's plan of care, confirming appointments with clients, driving to clients’ homes (average of 6 per day) to administer treatments developed by the occupational therapist, and daily reporting on progress with each client served. To be successful as an Occupational Therapy Assistant for home care you should be organized, compassionate, ethical, be an experienced driver and own your own car, and enjoy working with patients in their own homes. An excellent Occupational Therapy Assistant should maintain a positive attitude and be able to provide the highest degree of quality care to our patients.
We provide training in the field, supervision when you need it while also preserving your autonomy. We assist you with scheduling patients, provide you with opportunities to meet the other therapists on our team, and we wholeheartedly support your work-life balance. That's why we won't schedule you for any evenings or weekends and allow you to set the times of your appointments during the day according to what you need on any given day. You leave from your own home in the morning and go straight to your first patient. After your last patient visit is over, you are free to go home, whatever time that is. Occupational Therapy Assistant Responsibilities:
- Scheduling appointments, reporting with notes submitted electronically, and recording required patient information.
- Implementing treatment plans and helping patients perform therapeutic activities in their own homes.
- Ability to drive to multiple appointments in homes each day.
- Instructing patients and their families in the skills and techniques of a treatment program.
- Monitoring patients' performance and providing encouragement.
- Documenting patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior.
- Maintaining accurate patient treatment records and submitting them in a timely manner.
- Participating in continuing education classes and staff training.
- Graduate from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current license or certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Maryland.
- Compassionate with excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and healthy professional ethics and boundaries.
- Good working knowledge of Occupational Therapy practices, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Current driver’s license and own car in good working condition.
- Proof of auto insurance.
- BLS certification.
- Physical strength.
