The Lorain County Joint Vocational School is accepting applications for the position of:
Substitute Cosmetology Instructor
Lorain County JVS is a Career and Technical Education Training Center. It consists of a public high school for students in grades 9-12 and the Adult Career Center which offers training and educational opportunities for adults.

$16.62 per hour
REPORTS TO:
Assistant Principal
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess current Ohio State Board of Cosmetology Instructor and standard Vocational Trade and Industrial Cosmetology Substitute Certificate/License or be eligible to receive a One or Five year Career Tech Workforce Development Substitute License.
At least five years full-time related work experience in the field of cosmetology. Three of which must be the most recent.
Ability to work with students having a wide range of abilities and skill levels
High school diploma or GED
Desire to motivate and assist young people in setting educational, social and behavioral goals
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to teach and manage cosmetology laboratory and theory classes, teach technical skills in the laboratory situation and instruct students in the theory related to the Cosmetology field
Sincere interest and commitment to work with students, parents, staff, businesses, community organizations and associate schools
Team player - willingness to work effectively in a team environment
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience as a cosmetology instructor; preferably at the high school level.
Ability to develop curriculum. Knowledge of instructional techniques
Strong technology related skills
