The Research and Correspondence Department is seeking a Correspondence Analyst. The Correspondence Analyst’s primary responsibility is to perform extensive and thorough research and analysis in order to properly respond to variety of communications/appeals received from participants, providers, local unions, and third-party representatives as well as referrals from other departments. This includes responding to Health and Welfare insurance inquiries, all potential paths and categories of work, general correspondence, and additional requests. Along with research and composing letters, additional responsibilities may include updating various systems appropriately with determinations, working with other departments, preparing Committee items and speaking with members and providers.
The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of health and welfare and/or health insurance claims processing policies and procedures is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Facets and the ability to quickly become adept with several custom software packages is preferred. The candidate must have at minimum a high school diploma; however, a college degree is preferable.
