Basic PurposePositions in this job are involved in analyzing and implementing security systems at state prison facilities.
Typical Functions- Participates in the repair, installation, and design of security video, security perimeter alarm, facility intercom, detention locking, and telecommunications systems.
- Assists in the emergency repair of systems and provides technical consultation as needed.
- Conducts onsite assessments of security needs; requests and submits quotes for parts and equipment; researches available vendors, obtains bids, or submits local purchase requests as assigned.
- Conducts inventory counts of parts and equipment; prepares inventory documentation
- Assists in analyzing and evaluating the agency’s prison facility operational requirements for need and technical feasibility on communications, security systems, and high security mogul detention locking systems.
Possession of a high school diploma acquired from an accredited high school or GED equivalent testing program.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and CompetenciesKnowledge of basic maintenance and/or repair of various types of electronic equipment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to communicate effectively; and to take direction. A willingness to learn is required.
Applicant must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel associated with this position.
