Under the general direction of the Correctional Captain, Health Care Placement and Oversight Program (HCPOP) Medical Placement Section, the Correctional Counselor III (CC III) will match incarcerated-persons medical needs with institutional facility capabilities and programs. The consequences of these decisions have a significant impact on incarcerated-persons timely access to health care, compliance with court ordered mandates, and cost-effective utilization of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and CCHCS resources.
NOTE: It is up to the hiring authority to accept Training and Development (T&D) assignments. If you are interested in a T&D assignment, you are not required to meet MQs; however, you must indicate T&D as your eligibility when applying.

This position is located in Health Care Placement Oversight Program, Corrections Services. The Corrections Services programs provide vital services that ensure CCHCS' continued compliance, health care access, and safety throughout all 35 institutions.
