South Michigan Food Bank is 1 of 7 food banks in Michigan and part of 200 across the nation, reaching every county in the nation to support food needs in local areas. South Michigan Food Bank serves 8 counties across Michigan, collaborating with over 370 local organizations such as food pantries, soup kitchens, and other food sites to end hunger in South Michigan. Our mission is to enrich lives in our community by eliminating food insecurity. 2023 was the fourth consecutive year we have provided over 11 million pounds of food to our neighbors and communities. General Description and Position Summary
The Corporate Partnerships Manager serves as the gift officer for corporations, organization and other institutional funders, leading efforts to secure sustained giving from these entities. The Corporate Partnerships Manager advances four strategic objectives: (1) growing sustainable, predictable revenue for the mission, (2) increasing the number of corporate funders to South Michigan Food Bank, (3) implement stewardship and growth strategy by building relationships leading with ethics and transparency, and (4) cultivating a culture of philanthropy across the organization.
The Corporate Partnerships Manager specializes in building and maintaining relationships with business entities. They create partnership programs and sponsorship packages that align with corporate social responsibility goals, providing a valuable revenue stream for the organization.
The Corporate Partnerships Manager will develop proposals, reports, and funding opportunities to secure funding from new prospects as well as our prospective institutional funders. They will also be responsible for managing internal processes to ensure timely reporting, marketing, and building portfolio strategies to ensure sustainability and transformational goals.
The Corporate Partnerships Manager will serve as the face of the organization and develop and manage relationships with foundations, corporations, and other institutional giving entities to grow annual revenue potential with specific and measurable goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
· Serve as the primary and responsible party to research and write comprehensive and persuasive letters of inquiry, acknowledgments, and reports for programs, services, general operations, and capital projects to funders
· Utilize relationship-based fundraising to represent South Michigan Food Bank with local funders
· Collaborate with project, finance, and appropriate internal teams to gather information needed to prepare accurate proposals, financial reports and marketing documents and proposal/reporting guidelines are fulfilled
· Liaise between funders and internal teams to support alignment on shared vision, goals and projects
· Develop an annual plan for fundraising, including timelines and projected revenue
· Oversee and ensure that all application and report deadlines are met
· Closely monitor and manage CRM practices and procedures, tracking/reporting submissions and other ongoing donor communications/cultivation efforts
· Coordinate/conduct all necessary follow-up activities
· Meet fiscal year fundraising goals for institutional giving
· Excel at collaboration, both internally with SMFB management and leadership, and externally with communication and key meetings
· Proactively identify potential funders to establish new funding partnerships and strengthen SMFB relationships in the institutional funding community
· Maintain a strong understanding of SMFB history, programs, current initiatives, and strategic priorities
· Attend all Development events and assist in external activities; one team, one goal, one mission!
Qualifications
· Demonstrates a working knowledge of 501c3 organizations and non-profit sector
· Experience with strategic planning and achieving growing revenue goals
· Experience in prospect research
· Experience cultivating relationships
· Ability to distill complex information into coherent stories that build a compelling case for support
· Ability to develop internal systems for tracking reporting, budgeting, and editing needs for proposals and reports
· Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external constituencies
· Ability to establish priorities, navigate overlapping timelines, and meet deadlines

Work Environment
· Work is performed in an office environment. A hybrid remote schedule can be discussed
· Expected to travel off-site for work-related functions
· Occasional work in a warehouse-type environment
