POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly-motivated, responsible, and practical attorney to join our North American Legal Team. This position will be responsible for supporting SICK’s North American organization in a variety of legal matters arising in the course of SICK’s business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements consistent with business needs and company policies.
- Perform legal research on various areas including commercial issues, employment, compliance topics.
- Advise company stakeholders on legal matters
- Conduct internal training on legal topics.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) and licensed to practice law in at least one US state.
- 1-4 years of legal experience.
- Previous In-house experience a plus.
Other Qualifications:
- Understanding of case law and regulatory analysis.
- Solid understanding of contract law
- Ability to handle a variety of transactional legal matters.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal required.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet applications
- Ability and willingness to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed
- Legally permitted to work in the United States
- Ability to work in a general office environment
