POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly-motivated, responsible, and practical attorney to join our North American Legal Team. This position will be responsible for supporting SICK’s North American organization in a variety of legal matters arising in the course of SICK’s business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements consistent with business needs and company policies.
• Perform legal research on various areas including commercial issues, employment, compliance topics.
• Advise company stakeholders on legal matters
• Conduct internal training on legal topics.
• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) and licensed to practice law in at least one US state.
• 1-4 years of legal experience.
• Previous In-house experience a plus.

Other Qualifications:

• Understanding of case law and regulatory analysis.
• Solid understanding of contract law
• Ability to handle a variety of transactional legal matters.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal required.
• Proven attention to detail.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet applications
• Ability and willingness to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed
• Legally permitted to work in the United States
• Ability to work in a general office environment
