Job description

The Corporate Hotel & Catering Sales Manager will continue to develop an already thriving corporate market to ensure all revenue goals are achieved, while developing new business for a brand-new hotel, located at Montage Mountain Ski Resort. The Sales Manager will maximize revenues and profits by increasing and generating Catering Sales and business (both social and corporate) through aggressive proactive sales efforts against assigned local and regional markets. Position Summary Responsible for selling and contracting year-round corporate group and catering business for the ski resort and waterpark, with a primary focus on driving new groups, catering events, and corporate accounts to the hotel and convention center (scheduled to open 2025). Additionally, this position serves as the primary contact and detailing coordinator for all assigned groups during pre-convention planning and on-site, to include all meeting requirements, food/beverage catering, audio visual, floor plans, rooming lists, VIP amenities, billing requirements, arrival and departure patterns, and transportation. Manager coordinates and communicates the needs of group to the operations departments, in the form of a Banquet Event Order, Group Cover Sheet, both verbally and by email, and will direct weekly review meetings with applicable team members. This position is responsible for achieving goals within set markets to include sleeping room quantity, average daily rates, food and beverage revenues, audio visual revenues, and guest satisfaction scores. Reports to: General Manager Responsibilities of the Sales Manager: The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all inclusive. Drive revenue through new business opportunities and develop a strong customer base Executing and exceeding weekly sales call goals, tele-prospecting calls, hotel site tours and outside sales calls (cold call) goals Actively pursue new business both locally and regionally and seeking new leads for catering business. Upsell current contracted catering agreements, by utilizing new menu ideas and collaborating with food and beverage team for custom opportunities. Detail all event catering functions with group leaders and communicate information internally with team utilizing sales software and documentation as specified. Proactive sales approach to saturate and penetrate accounts that meet the hotels quarterly goals. Build rapport with clients & qualify their needs. Record all business in the sales system software, and present reports to leadership as required. Ensure that operations and event management have all information needed to adequately service the client. Sell the appropriate resort package to serve their unique group needs. Attend tradeshows, community events, and industry specific meetings and events against assigned markets. Utilize hospitality expertise to maintain relationships and knowledge of market trends, competition and customer base and with a strong focus on fostering business relationships. Participate in trade organization membership and attend events including Meeting Planners International, Pennsylvania Ski Area Association, and more (Target market within 4 hour driving distance including New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Middle and East Pennsylvania and the full Mid-Atlantic Region). Coaches, mentors, advocates fellow sales team members as well as the company and is a hospitality champion demonstrating old world hospitality with charm. Collaborate with marketing and design team to develop collateral materials. Maintains a positive, friendly, caring attitude with clients, travel partners, colleagues, and hotel personnel. The ability to maintain a professional appearance reflective of the hotel image and conduct behavior in a mature and professional manner. Other duties as assigned. Montage Mountain is an “all hands-on deck” team and occasional assistance in other departments will be required at the general managers discretion. Requirements of the Sales Manager: Salary: This position has a highly incentivized commission on ALL revenues produced.
