Overview As we continue to build our team in support of our vision to be the world’s best and most trusted mobility company, the Corporate Legal Group is excited to announce the opening of a Corporate Counsel position! This position will provide critical support to various aspects of the business, primarily supporting Enterprise Mobility’s Global Fleet Acquisition and Remarketing and related operational teams. The Corporate Counsel will play an integral role in providing legal support for the Organization’s fleet efforts, spanning fleet planning and acquisition, service and rental operations, and vehicle disposal. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across multiple global lines of business to support the organization’s robust fleet.  Primary responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, editing and negotiating a broad range of agreements, regulatory review and analysis, and providing guidance on general corporate and preventative law initiatives along with management of outside counsel.  Further, the Corporate Counsel will work with colleagues in the Legal Group to provide legal guidance on cutting edge projects related to connected car, electric vehicles, and emerging technological opportunities for our fleet. This position will provide advice and support at the corporate and local operation levels, through contract negotiation, review and drafting, regulatory review, drafting, and compliance, short and long-term legal risk assessment, meaningful partnership and collaboration with the business on strategic legal initiatives, training and managing outside counsel. This is a fantastic role for a candidate looking to join a driven and dynamic team and develop their career in an industry-leading in-house legal function. As the industry evolves, we’ll be embracing new types of business that will require lawyers who are comfortable learning and advising on new areas and coming up with creative solutions to the issues of the day.  This role will require someone that can think through problems, navigate the legal and regulatory environment, and find ways to facilitate change. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help develop a practice area while also collaborating with business stakeholders and colleagues in the Legal Group, in their areas of expertise, in Europe, the UK and the North America, working on projects globally as part of these cross-departmental functional teams. Responsibilities Manage and assist clients with resolving all legal issues pertaining to various corporate, transactional, marketing, and regulatory matters in a manner consistent with the organization’s business philosophy and strategy, and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirementsPrepare and negotiate key commercial sales contracts to which the company is a party and ensure that they properly protect Enterprise’s interests Provide legal support for Enterprise Holdings’ marketing departmentAssist the organization as it navigates the evolving global landscape of ESG and Sustainability related laws, regulations, and requirementsClearly communicate or present (in writing or verbally) and advise decision makers on the risks and benefits of negotiating options, contractual provisions, and taking various other actions with potential legal impactMonitor and provide timely and accurate interpretations of the various laws, regulations, and judicial developments affecting the organization’s businesses to senior management and operating personnel; keep them apprised of the types of action that require legal consideration and provide internal guidance regarding potential legal risk and compliance obligationsPrepare best practices and present training to various personnel throughout the organizationPartner with assigned functional areas and operating units to help drive the organization’s business model and execute its strategiesIn addition to these job functions, candidates will also need to display proficiency in the following Competencies:High level of professionalism and integrity; strong ethical standardsCollaborative skills set and work ethicAn understanding and sensitivity to maintaining confidential informationStrong time management and organizational skillsComfortable working independently or in a team and agility and judgment to balance multiple requests and competing prioritiesOutstanding interpersonal skills Superior verbal communication skillsExcellent writing & drafting skillsHigh level of attention to detail and processEffective team playerEqual Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veterans Qualifications Minimum:Juris Doctorate from an accredited law schoolMust be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the futureSeven (7) or more years of relevant experience in a business law firm or in a corporate law department with a proven record of professional excellence and achievement Significant research and transactional law experience, including drafting and negotiating complex contracts Admission to at least one state Bar in the United States is required, with the ability to qualify with the Missouri state barIntermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
