The Company: Prime Auto USA is an independent used car dealership located in Jackson, TN with a full sales team, finance team, client success team and service team with a total of just under 50 employees and selling just under 100 cars per month. We provide automotive reconditioning to cars that are being prepared to sell including an 80 point inspection as well as on-going repairs for our free 6 month 6,000 mile limited warranty and customer pay work. Job Description: Corporate Controller

Ideal Requirements for Employment:

  • 10 plus Years of Experience leading a high performing accounting team.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated capability to work in collaboration with all stakeholders of the organization.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to call, text and speak with customers in person.
  • Reasonable abilities utilizing technology the company utilizes.
  • A demonstrated history of success in your endeavors.
  • Automotive dealership experience is a plus
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong leadership qualities

  • Deadline and detail-oriented

Corporate Controller duties and responsibilities:

The Corporate Controller will manage all functions related to proper and timely cost accounting and preparation of tax and GAAP financial statements, forecasts and required reporting to stake holders. This includes all companies including PPOC LLC, PPOC Lending LLC, MGM Reinsurance Company LTD and any other related companies subsequently added. The employee will draw on their vast experience, network and energy to hire, inspire and retain administrative staff, as necessary, and as the company grows, to do the same. The following will be some of the major responsibilities related to this job, although not comprehensive:

  • Create an environment of optimism and energy that will lead to higher engagement amongst the team.
  • Recruit, hire and maintain a full staff within budget constraints to fulfill the functions of the job described.
  • Create accurate tax and GAAP accounting for individual entities.
  • Create monthly consolidated GAAP financial statements and forecasts of all entities.
  • Maintain accurate daily cash reconciliation including cash and merchant service settlements.
  • File yearly federal, state and local tax returns as required by law and pay any required taxes timely and accurately.
  • Keep all filing requirements for all licenses, business entities as required for federal, state and local regulators up to date on time.
  • Oversee the HR accounting functions of the company including payroll, company benefits, HR policies and management. Ensure timely payment of taxes and filings as required by federal, state and local laws.
  • Effectively communicate the requirements needed to meet the accounting goals for each location in the region, including any management of processes for proper accounting.
  • Recruit and retain a team that will be able to meet the company goals.
  • Track the statistics of each department including sales, collections, underwriting and service and provide reporting to the CEO and CFO of KPIs with observations and suggestions to meet company goals and make improvements to customer outcome and profit. Included will be verification of data provided by department heads.
  • Use accounting and financial statistics and observation methods to identify areas of improvement to improve company profit, cash flow and customer outcome.
  • Provide feedback to the CEO/CFO for proper coaching and training of employees of the company in areas of improvement for better accounting and reporting. Work with stakeholders to implement changes to improve accounting, reporting and outcomes for company results.
  • Hold each member of your team accountable for meeting the required results.
  • Oversee and coordinate all financial activities and personnel
  • Set controls and budgets to mitigate risk and increase return on investments
  • Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques
  • Conduct internal audits to assess financial status
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Serve as primary contact for external auditors

Minimum Expected Results:

  • Create and distribute monthly GAAP financial results by the 10th business day of each month and maintain organized records for year end audits.
  • Complete daily reconciliations of cash with $0 variance including cash, merchant services and any other payment types.
  • Create a weekly borrowing base to track trending and a monthly borrowing base to publish to the bank as required by our loan documents.
  • Create, file and pay federal, state and local taxes timely and accurately.
  • Prepare internal documents and manage internal staff and external professionals to complete year end audits of financial results within internal and banking requirements.
  • Accurately and timely file all required regulatory licenses, renewals and filings.
  • Process payroll, AR, AP and other accruals and payments accurately and timely.
  • Work in cooperation with other leaders and employees of the company to meet the overall company goals.
  • Track monthly KPI statistics for all departments including verification of number generated by each department.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
