General Function

In alignment with CIRI's mission and values, the Corporate Accountant is responsible for the accounting and reporting related to assigned industries/affiliates within the CIRI structure.

Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)

  1. Responsible for daily, monthly and annual accounting for designated industries and/or affiliates of CIRI. Functions include recording monthly operating results and recurring entries, reviewing coding on invoices, reviewing monthly transaction registers, reconciling inter-company and other general ledger accounts, recording equity income to parent and review of monthly financial statements, uploading and reconciling subsidiary companies' account ledgers to general ledgers and perform other account reconciliations as required.
  2. Accounts for real estate investments including commercial properties, equity investments and development projects to ensure accurate and efficient reporting under US GAAP.Performs technical accounting analysis under US GAAP within areas of responsibility and maintains accurate and timely bank compliance reporting on external debt secured by the real estate portfolio assets.
  3. Prepares schedules and work papers for annual financial audits of CIRI and subsidiaries.
  4. Assist in the preparation of all internal and external reports including monthly financial statements and variance analysis, quarterly consolidations, and year-end financial statements. Assist with various other reporting and analysis across all of CIRI's diverse business segments.
  5. Assist with annual budget compilation.
  6. Assist with all forecasts and projections.
  7. Monitor budget-to-actual performance on designated projects and operations and research variances from budget.
  8. Performs other duties as appropriate and as assigned.

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and industry-standard computer software and databases.
  • High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information.

Physical Abilities

  • Sufficient fine motor skills for use of computers, calculators with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time.
  • Visual and communication abilities adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to kneel, bend and twist at the waist on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to reach below shoulder height with regular frequency (desk position) and at or above shoulder height on occasion.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance.
  • Two or more years of public accounting experience; or five or more years of accounting experience.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background screening.
