Thomas Marketing Services, a division of Xometry, is looking for a skilled Copy Editor.
The right candidate enjoys working independently to edit high volumes of content, has a passion for writing, and geeks out on grammar. You'll edit technical content on a daily basis and should be comfortable writing copy for various forms of B2B marketing collateral, including website pages, blogs, eBooks, pillar pages, and case studies.
As a member of the Content team, the Copy Editor will report to our Sr. Content Manager and work alongside our large team of other writers and full-time editors.
What you'll be doing as a Copy Editor:
- Regularly fact-check, edit, and proofread large volumes of marketing content for clients in the manufacturing industry
- Act as the final checkpoint before delivering original pieces of content, mostly consisting of website pages, blogs, eBooks, pillar pages, and case studies
- Optimize content and make updates to ensure the voice, style, and direction of content meet publishing standards
- Occasionally write original content based on provided outlines, resources, and strategic content goals
- Occasionally communicate with clients and participate in content-related client calls
What you bring to Thomas:
- Degree in English, Journalism, or Communications required
- 0-2 years of experience in writing and editing, preferably in an agency or industrial setting
- Impeccable editing, proofreading, grammar, and writing skills
- Ability to understand and explain complex technical information in easy-to-understand language
- Outstanding reliability when managing a time-sensitive workload, especially with daily deadlines
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment with a wide range of projects
- Knowledge of AP Style a plus
